When Generic Minocin Should Not Be Used: You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to minocycline or any tetracycline antibiotic (such as doxycycline, tetracycline). Do not give Generic Minocin to children who are less than 8 years old because it can permanently change tooth color. You should not use Generic Minocin if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding. How to Use Generic Minocin: Your doctor will tell you how much Generic Minocin to use and how often. Do not use more Generic Minocin or use it more often than your doctor tells you to. Swallow Generic Minocin with a full glass of water. You may take Generic Minocin with food if it upsets your stomach. Taking Generic Minocin with food may lower your chances of getting irritation or ulcers in your esophagus (heartburn). Keep using Generic Minocin for the full treatment time, even if you feel better after the first few doses. Your infection may not clear up if you stop using Generic Minocin too soon.
