When Generic Claritin Should Not Be Used: You should not use Generic Claritin if you have had an allergic reaction to loratadine. How to Use Generic Claritin : Tablet. Your doctor will tell you how much Generic Claritin to use and how often. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to. If you are using Generic Claritin without a prescription, follow the instructions on the medicine label. You may take the tablet with or without water. If a dose is missed: If you miss a dose or forget to take your Generic Claritin, take it as soon as you can.
